Kicking off our blog on the best outdoor movies in Austin this summer is A League Of Their Own playing on Friday, August 4th at Robin Bledsoe Park. A League Of Their Own, starring Lori Petty and Geena Davis and Madonna, was a huge hit when it was first released in 1992 and is good enough to watch again and again. There’s music and games on hand too and the movie starts at 7:30pm. Bring your own lawn chairs and/or blankets!
Next up on our blog on the best outdoor movies in Austin this summer is the 2017 version of Beauty & The Beast starring Emma Watson playing on Friday, August 18th at Lake Kyle Park. If there’s rain (or if Lake Kyle is too wet/muddy), the venue will be changed to nearby Gregg-Clarke Park so be sure to check the website the day of if you’ve spotted bad weather. It’s free and the movie screen is a massive 26’ x 15’ screen – that’s thirty feet diagonally! Remember to bring lawn chairs, blankets and food.
Rounding out our blog on the best outdoor movies in Austin this summer is Zootopia, playing on Friday, August 18th at San Gabriel Park. It’s part of their Sunset Movie Series and begins at sunset, somewhere between 8pm and 830pm. This is NOT rain or shine so if there’s bad weather afoot, check their website at 2pm on the day of to see if it’s been cancelled. Zootopia is playing in the San Gabriel Park soccer fields and you’re also encouraged to bring snacks, etc.
